The club has during the last couple of years done a good job and built up an all astro turf track outside the city. The track was very high traction in dry conditions and had a true offroad character to it with a lot of different challanges with a very bumpy surface. Nevertheless it was a really fun track to race on. It took some time to find one's way around the layout and since we never had been to this track at all before it took some time to find the speed.
2WD
Saturday was all 2wd. The day started out with some massive rain-falls which meant the start had to be postponed a couple of hours. The track also dried out really slowly, so the first rounds were in practice wet race conditions. We started out with the XB2 set up with a dirt gearbox to make the best of the traction situation. It worked out well and Alexander was able to finish 2nd in the first two rounds. By the third round it started drying out adn we re-built the car to lay-down gearbox and Alexander was again able to come in second. Elias had won the three first rounds by that securing the overall TQ. After a small damper change before the last qualifying round we got the car working even better and Alexander was able to TQ that round posting the fastest qualifying time of the day! Starting order for the finals was then Elias followed by Alexander and Wilhelm in third.

In the first round Elias got off to a good start and Alexander made a first lap mistake and fell down the order, but managed to claw his way back to fourth place. Elias wont that round. Second round saw Elias making a mistake and breaking something on his car and Alexander again had an early incident letting Wilhelm move into the lead and get a gap. Alexander was able to chase him down, and they had a big battle for the final five or six laps for the lead, but Alexander couldn't find a way past so it was victory for Wilhelm followed by Alexander.
Going in to the final round all top four qualifiers could take the overall victory. In the final round Elias again got off to a good start and Alexander and Wilhelm battled out for second place until Wilhelm's car got caught by the wind going across the big jump and they both flipped and lost some places. Alexander managed to fight his way up to second place again as Elias wont he last round giving Elias the overall victory, Alexander claiming second overall and Wilhelm completing the podium.
This race was truly proof of how versatile the XB2 platform has become to be able to adapt easily to all these different conditions.
Sunday was 4wd time. Again we started out feeling our way with this new track. A small damper change again proved to improve the car a lot, and qualifying order was established as a repeat of the previous day with Elias, Alexander and Wilhelm taking the top three spots in that order.
In the all dry weather traction was really coming up, so making 5 minutes without mistakes proved really hard. The first round was won by Elias as Alexander made an early mistake and fell down the order.

The second round saw Elias and Alexander getting off to a good start and this time Elias made an early mistake letting Alexander through, and he was able to retain the lead and take the second round. This meant that all three top qualifiers could win the race going in to the third round. The last round was quite uneventful for Elias and Alexander who finished in their starting order, but Wilhelm had a bad start and managed to fight back from 10th to 3rd in that round and by that securing third overall and completing a full repeat of the podium from 2wd.
